Boss has done the world a massive solid by releasing expanded versions of two very popular products. Both the Metal Zone and the discontinued Dimension C have taken a turn for the boutique after being given the made-in-Japan Waza Craft treatment. So, let’s have a look at them.
People often tell us that some things in life are worth waiting for. But, in this case it’s been 30 long years of hanging around in the doorway for The BOSS DC-2W Dimension C to show. But, now it’s arrived. And what a great piece of work it is.
The DC-2W Waza recreates the original DC-2 and the SDD-320 Dimension D rack unit. Only now, it’s all slammed down into one convenient stompbox. It’s designed to massively enhance your sound with natural width and depth. Its analogue audio circuitry delivers an exceptional tone and provides a total of 20 variants for you to play with.
After 27-years of continuous production and nearly 1 million units sold, the original MT-2 is rightly known as a legend among pedals. But, now Boss has delivered the MT-2W. So, let’s delve in.
The pedal comes with two modes. First, there is the Standard. This gives you a more responsive and defined version of the original Metal Zone. It’s still meaty and beefs up your riff, massively. Then, you’ve got the Custom setting. This one helps you to deliver a sound that’s much more suited for today’s high-gain styles of sound. Furthermore, the MT-2W provides a 3-band EQ. This lets you add more customization to your style and keeps you at the forefront of contemporary metal tones. It’s a heck of an upgrade.
