It’s NAMM 2018 and Squier have announced their new Contemporary range. Focused on the heavier end of the market, the Squier Contemporary Series are aimed at metal and rock guitarists. Every guitar in the range features Humbucking pickups and a 12″ fingerboard radius, meaning they’re voiced perfectly for heavy music. Let’s take a closer look –
These guitars take a classic look and heavy it up with a maple neck, poplar body and a pair of ceramic Humbuckers,
Stratocasters are know for their ‘thin’ single coil tone. Not these! The Contemporary Stratocaster HH Series feature a pair of ceramic Humbuckers.
As a happy middle ground the HSS Stratocaster Series feature a Humbucker in bridge position and a single coil in middle and neck position. These guitars will take you from crunchy heavy tones to crisp cleans.
Taking the Stratocaster to the heaviest of realms, the HH Active Strat boasts a pair of active pickups, a licensed Floyd Rose and a 25.5″ scale.
