NAMM 2019: Laney’s Black Country Customs FX Pedals

Posted on 24th January 2019 by

Laney has released three new Black Country Customs pedals. Announced as part of the NAMM 2019 convention, the range includes a reverb, overdrive and boost. And, born out of Laney’s desire to help you achieve the best tone possible, each pedal is built using high-quality components, designed to last a lifetime.

Monolith Distortion Pedal

This distortion is built to give the player complete tonal command. From classic rock tones to jangly indie licks, the Monolith delivers expressive gain control, even at the lowest levels. This means that you can keep rocking quietly in your bedroom/studio and its dynamic response is still a pleasure to hear. Consequently, even when you’re hitting it hard each note is still clear and apparent.

Main Features

  • Distortion Control: Adjusts the amount of sustain and distortion available.
  • Volume Control: Adjusts the output level to balance sounds or push an amplifier harder.
  • Range Control: Adjusts the low-end content before distortion. Cleans up muddy sounding pickups and high gain settings.
  • Tone control: Adjusts the output treble response

Secret Path Reverb Pedal

The Secret Path delivers crafted reverbs for Spring and Plate. This excellent pedal provides a wonderful reminder of those classic amps and studio tones we all love so much. But, combined with modern day sound quality and reliability, of course.  With its ability to deliver dark, mesmerising ambience with a brooding shiver, we’re certainly looking forward to testing it out.

Main Features

Pre-delay: Adjusts the amount of time between the original dry signal and the effected signal.  Use this to make the original dry sound stand out a little more when using long reverb times.
Volume Control: Adjusts the overall output of the pedal.
Size Control: This adjusts the size of the space that it emulates. Anticlockwise – gives you the smallest selection fully clockwise gives you the biggest space available
Tone control: Used to determine the tonal characteristic of the reverb signal.  Fully clockwise is flat with no reduction in the frequency of the reverb signal, lower settings produce darker, warmer reverbs.

Steelpark Boost Pedal

The Steelpark is a very versatile Boost pedal that’s perfect for stacking before or after other gain pedals on your board.  It’s designed to help push your amp hard and cut through the mix, while its versatility means you can use the pedal at the front of your board to compress your other gain pedals. Or, as a volume boost too. So, whether you need a cleanup job something to maximize your volume, the Steelpark will see you right.
