Great news for fans of modern retro design. Epiphone has announced the release of its new DC Pro guitar. The new model is Epiphone’s first release of 2019 and is a contemporary take on the 70s era Del Rey Double Cut design.
It’s solidly built with a mahogany body and neck and is finished off with a slick looking AAA flame maple veneer top. And, the double cutaway body shape completes its stylish, classic style. As far as affordable models of guitars go, this beauty punches well above the price tag.
Epiphone has also gone out of its way to ensure that its retro style is matched by its tone, too. Featuring a pair of ProBucker humbuckers The DC Pro recreates the characteristics of 50s PAF style pickups. Plus the treble bleed circuit lets the high-end filter through at lower volumes meaning you can reduce the volume pot without losing the tone’s lucidity. Plus, the coil-split capabilities and phase reversal give you further tonal options to keep you entertained forever and a day.
Attached to the body is a sweet, deep-set neck with ‘C’ profile shape. So, whether you’re running through the scales or hitting up the big chords, this retro machine delivers maximum playing comfort. And the pau ferro fretboard, with 24 medium jumbo frets mean you will have no trouble hitting the notes you want.
The DC Pro comes fully equipped with a LockTone Tune-o-Matic bridge, Stopbar tailpiece and Grover machine heads. This combo affords the player incredible tuning stability so you don’t have to be shy if you’re the kind of ham-fisted guitarist who finds it hard to keep in tune.
In addition, the DC Pro also includes a pair of StrapLocks, too. So, you can rock hard without fearing your big moment will end in an embarrassing drop of the guitar.
