There isn’t anything quite like a Gibson. These guitars are all built in the USA using the highest quality components. Furthermore, they are among some of the most iconic and important instruments in modern music! Just some of our favourites from the 2019 solid body offering include:
Billed as the ‘Ultimate Player’s Guitar’, the Gibson Les Paul HP retains many popular features for 2019. As can be seen, the beautiful AAA+ figured maple top and choice of eye-catching finishes make for a great looking guitar. Made to be played, the HP uses an asymmetrical slim taper neck, fast-access heel, soloist neck width and ultra-modern weight relief. Beefy output is definitely assured from the BurstBucker Rhythm Pro and BurstBucker Lead Pro + pickups.
Taking things back to basics, the Gibson 2019 Les Paul takes many of the original characteristics that created a legend! In short, this is a heavy piece of mahogany without any of the weight relief of modern guitars. A big chunky neck and bound rosewood fingerboard give you the solid playing feel that players have enjoyed for decades. And vintage tone is assured with the 61R and 61T zebra pickups.
The SG was first conceived back in 1961, and this version is essentially a remake of that classic instrument. Designed especially for players, the Gibson 2019 SG ’61 has a comfortable slim taper mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard. Vintage appointments include the period correct sculpted body, 5-ply small pickguard and neck joint. Voiced with 61R and 61T humbuckers, you will enjoy the classic PAF tone.
Obviously a pinup of the guitar world, the Firebird was first launched in 1963. The Gibson 2019 Firebird uses the traditional 9-ply mahogany/walnut neck-through body construction for big sustain and tonal warmth. There’s a slim taper on the neck, and a bound rosewood fingerboard to emphasize playability. Add a pair of Firebird mini humbuckers to complete the appointments, and the result is this head-turning guitar!
The Les Paul Jr was first introduced by Gibson as an option for students and beginners. The Gibson 2019 model is getting a lot of interest and for good reason! Coming in at a great price for an authentic USA Gibson, this is a double-cut Les Paul design with vintage styling. The pickups and controls are mounted in a stylish pickguard design that hints at the classic. There’s a single P-90 mounted at the bridge, giving a bright, old-school tone.
Fans of heavy metal are going to like this one… This is obviously a rock-ready monster! The Gibson 2019 range extends the Tribute name to the Explorer (and Flying-V) for the essential version of a metal icon. This is an all mahogany construction and slim taper neck, with the signature slanted headstock shape. Serious output is supplied by the duo of Dirty Fingers + humbucking pickups. As a result, you will be able to shred and thrash away knowing you’ve got the perfect tool for the job.

This is certainly set to be a real favourite of the Gibson 2019 offering!
The Gibson 2019 ES-275 Thinline is a fresh take on an iconic Gibson shape. In style, this is basically a semi-hollow jazz box. But in fact, dig just a little deeper and enjoy the modern features that puts a stamp on the Gibson 2019 range! The unique Cherry Cola finish works extremely well with the AAA figured maple top, and the thermally engineered spruce centre-block increases rigidity. The Gibson 2019 range is completed by a fine selection of acoustic guitars. This is where it all began. From the pioneering roots players in the deep South, through to the singer-songwriters of today enjoy playing these premium instruments!
Developed in the ‘30s, Gibson’s L-00 was an industry standard for many years. This is a small-bodied acoustic that gives a big sound and unparalleled projection. The tone itself is quite similar to a J-45, which is surprising considering its much smaller body. The traditional pairing of spruce coupled with mahogany gives the vintage sound of roots players, and this is one of our firm favourites from the Gibson 2019 line-up!
The J-45 has been a dependable member of Gibson’s offering since it began life back in 1942. Generally considered as the most popular and famous acoustic from Gibson, for 2019 they have given it a facelift! This Sustainable model uses environmentally-conscious construction and materials. North American walnut back and sides give a bright and focused sound. And we love the walnut pickguard and inlays; unique touches that give this edition an inimitable earthy appeal!
The versatile and beloved Hummingbird is an unmistakable Gibson classic! This flat-top is an ideal choice for singer-songwriters, producing deep and rich tones no matter how you play. A big square-shouldered spruce and mahogany guitar, and certainly a piece of music history. The gorgeous signature detailing on the pickguard along with the eye-catching finish ensures that you know you’re playing a premium instrument.
Gibson are known for their experimentation with designs in recent years, some working and some perhaps falling short. We think the Gibson 2019 J-45 Chroma is certainly the former! The teal burst finish looks fantastic, and fits especially well with the quilted maple back and sides. The choice of maple also gives a bright clarity not normally found in a dreadnought-sized guitar. A unique choice for anyone who’s been pining for a J-45.
