Fender American Performer Range

All-New Pickups & Electronics

Fender have designed two new pickups; the Yosemite single-coils and DoubleTap humbuckers which are both used across the American Performer range. Both benefit expressive and dynamic playing, and will help you to incorporate new elements in your performance.

Yosemite Single Coils

The Yosemites give superb output, and provide rich and expressive tones. They use flat-staggered pole pieces to maximise output, and a shellac coating lets the coils breathe whilst keeping feedback in check. As a result, these highly musical pickups will be perfectly suited for a whole range of situations!

DoubleTap Humbuckers

Featured on the HSS Stratocaster and the Humbucking Telecaster, the DoubleTap pickup is a unique patent-pending design. It provides both humbucking and single-coil voices, whilst eliminating the problem of volume loss in single-coil mode. Wax-potted, this pickup responds with a beautiful dynamic that controls feedback.

Greasebucket Tone Circuitry

Fender’s Greasebucket circuitry has been floating around for a few years. This is a tweak often undertaken by modders, and cleans up the circuit and helps to even out your tone. Essentially the Greasebucket circuit allows you to control the highs by letting them bleed through the circuit, and turns your pots into almost “no-load” pots.

Stratocaster

Fender American Performer Stratocaster SSS

Fender American Performer Stratocaster – MN – Penny – Full Details

The SSS configuration of the Stratocaster features a cool push/pull tone control which toggle the neck pickup on and off, no matter which pickups you have selected. This unlocks a lot of potential for your Strat! Now you can hear the bridge and neck pickups together, or whack on all three for a new dimension of Strat tones!

Fender American Performer Stratocaster HSS

Fender American Performer Stratocaster HSS – MN – Black – Full Details

The Stratocaster HSS uses the gnarly DoubleTap humbucking bridge pickup with a coil-tap push/pull control. This gives you even more control than the usual HSS, and allows you to get even closer to the typical all single-coil Strat sound. And when you need it, you’ve got that chunky humbucker in the bridge for all-out grit!

Telecaster

Fender American Performer Telecaster

The one that started it all, the single-coil Telecaster is still a real workhorse guitar. This American Performer Telecaster has all the authentic looks and flavour of the original, yet packs a pair of Yosemite pickups and Greasebucket tone circuitry for fresh tone and dynamics.

Fender American Performer Telecaster Humbucker

Fender American Performer Telecaster, Humbucking – MN – Vintage White – Full Details

The Humbucking Telecaster puts a DoubleTap humbucker at the neck. This means you can get a rich, full and creamy tone out of your Telecaster! Definitely a great choice for getting that thick and bluesy swamp sound whilst keeping things typically Fender.

Jazzmaster

Fender American Performer Jazzmaster

Fender American Performer Jazzmaster – RW – Satin Lake Placid Blue – Full Details

The offset pinup that is – the Fender Jazzmaster! The American Performer version comes in a choice of four groovy colours, that looks every bit as classy as this iconic body-shape deserves. The key change here is the bridge. Out goes the traditional spongy Jazzmaster tailpiece, and in comes a tight Strat-style vintage synchronized tremolo. Now your Jazzmaster won’t just look cool, it will play with a renewed ruthless authority!

Mustang

Fender American Performer Mustang

Fender American Performer Mustang – RW – 3-Colour Sunburst – Full Details

The Mustang is a short-scale classic. Using a 24” scale length, you’ll be able to open up new playing possibilities with that little bit of extra fret-reach. As well as the Yosemite single coils and Greasebucket circuit that lets your tone sing, Fender have altered the bridge. This is a vintage/modern hybrid tailpiece, keeping the good and bringing fresh accuracy thanks to the grooved saddles.

Fender keep things current with the American Performer Precision Bass. Jazz Bass

Fender American Performer Jazz Bass

Fender American Performer Jazz Bass – MN – Satin Surf Green – Full Details

The Jazz Bass is a real favourite for funk players, thanks to the snappy tone and overall brightness. The Yosemite pickups and Greasebucket circuit maximise this, keeping your sound crystal clear. With a choice of four trendy new colours, this could be the perfect time to get your hands on this boss of the bass world.

Mustang Bass

Fender American Performer Mustang Bass

Fender American Performer Mustang Bass – RW – Aubergine – Full Details

The Mustang is an off-the-wall bass. Its short 30” scale and edgy looks have made it a favourite of alt-rockers. The American Performer version recreates the special split-coil pickup from the original ‘70s design drawings and pairs it with a Yosemite Jazz Bass bridge pickup! Fun and different, the Mustang bass is certainly worth a try when you want to push the envelope!
